چکیده
A three-dimensional (3D) finite element method (FEM) based on an inserted cohesive numerical analysis procedure was developed for concrete mesoscale systems the ABAQUS platform with python scripts. Aggregates were generated dividing existing geometrical algorithms to randomize arbitrary spheres. Simultaneously, randomizations of maximum aggregate size and uniform distributions particles also considered. An FEM mortar phase in along interfacial transition zone (ITZ) by inserting a element. Numerical parameter analyses performed nine different varying coarse volume fraction (α) ITZ tension strength (ITZ-S). The mechanical performance coupling effects α ITZ-S evaluated simulated tensile loading. results simulations properties, such as strengths damage behaviour systems, verified experimental results. proposed generation approach simulation can be used researchers better understand how affect systems.

3D Mesoscale Finite Element Modelling of Concrete
Concrete is non-homogeneous and is composed of three main constituent phases from a mesoscopic viewpoint, namely aggregates, mortar matrix, and interface transition zone (ITZ). A mesoscale model with explicit representation of the three distinctive phases is needed for investigation into the damage processes underlying the macroscopic behaviour of the composite material. This paper presents a f...
متن کاملA New Approach for Measurement of Tensile Strength of Concrete
Tensile strength is one of the important strength parameters of concrete. Indirect methods have been used up till now for its measurement. These methods though widely accepted, do not furnish the true tensile strength of concrete. This paper presents a new approach for the experimental determination of true tensile strength of concrete. Results obtained by this test are quite encouraging and sh...
متن کاملExperimental and Numerical Study on Tensile Strength of Concrete under Different Strain Rates
The dynamic characterization of concrete is fundamental to understand the material behavior in case of heavy earthquakes and dynamic events. The implementation of material constitutive law is of capital importance for the numerical simulation of the dynamic processes as those caused by earthquakes. Splitting tensile concrete specimens were tested at strain rates of 10(-7) s(-1) to 10(-4) s(-1) ...
متن کاملDetermination of Tensile Strength and Crack Growth of a Typical Polymer Concrete Using Circular Disc Samples
Cracked and un-cracked Brazilian disc specimens subjected to diametral compression were used for conducting fracture toughness and tensile strength experiments on a polymer concrete (PC) material. The value of mode I fracture toughness (KIc) was determined from the center- cracked Brazilian disc and the indirect tensile strength (σt) was obtained from the un-cracked Brazilian disc specimen. The...
متن کاملDataset of tensile strength development of concrete with manufactured sand
This article presents 755 groups splitting tensile strength tests data of concrete with manufactured sand (MSC) in different curing age ranged from 1 day to 388 days related to the research article "Experimental study on tensile strength development of concrete with manufactured sand" (Zhao et al., 2017) [1]. These data were used to evaluate the precision of the prediction formulas of tensile s...
